Five Ways To Get Away Without Spending A Fortune
Every couple needs to get away and focus on each other for a while. The stresses of work, managing a family, and being every person you have to be can overwhelm a marriage very quickly if the right care is not taken to ensure it is healthy. When money is tight, you may feel as if your options are limited. You can’t afford a week long cruise, and who would run your house while you were gone anyway? Try using one of these budget friendly ideas to put a spark back in your marriage and make sure your focus is where it belongs.
A Romantic Picnic In The Park
Remember when you were first dating, and just being together was enough? You can remember those times with a romantic picnic in the park. If the weather permits, pack a special lunch or dinner and visit your favorite park. Pick a spot out of the way of traffic and spread a blanket. Simply relax, eat, and enjoy the other’s company. If you’re lucky, you may even get to take a nap under the stars.
Drive In Theater
Every teenager knows the value of a drive-in theater. Why not find a sitter and remember what it was like to be a teenager again? Drive-in theaters are inexpensive, and you can eat dinner at home or splurge on a fancy dinner because your date is less expensive. At the drive-in, you can cuddle under a blanket and feel close to your spouse, even while you are entertained by several movies. Stay for the double feature if you’re just not ready to return home to the chaos yet.
Search For Online Activity Deals
Dating is fun when you can participate in an event that reminds you how it feels to be young. Depending on what season you’re in, take your favorite man or your special girl to a fun active or sight seeing date. Perhaps, a Manchester united stadium tour sounds fun. Before you head out do a fast search to grab a discount on admission fees.
Book A Day Spa
Are the stresses and tensions of work and maintaining a family threatening to completely overwhelm you? Take a spa day with your spouse to release some tension and get some much needed body care. Use the spa specials to avoid draining your bank account. Enjoy a massage, a facial, or a professional manicure while you relax and are pampered. And when your spouse is with you, you’ll both leave feeling like you can take on the world again.
Create A Special Date At Home
Sometimes you just don’t have the energy to go out, and finding a sitter is just too much of a hassle. For these times, create a date at home. Make a special dinner and eat it somewhere other than the kitchen. Plan games or a movie with your spouse. Do something that is not your usual routine while ignoring the things you feel like you have to do.
Every great marriage consists of taking the time out of the regular schedule to enjoy each other and remember the reasons you feel in love in the first place. Regular dating is a great way to spark those old memories.

What we do for an inexpensive date is to buy a yearly pass to our zoo. Then we can go enjoy the lovely grounds, have a little something to eat or drink while watching the rhinos, and visit our favorite animals. Since a pass costs us $55 for the year, if we go once a month it is less than $5 for a visit for the both of us. We used to go every week when my husband had different hours.
