Get Ready For Summer
Summer brings fun in the sun and an increase in outdoor activities. If you own a pool, you are most likely aware of the great enjoyment you can have. On hot summer days, a dip in the pool is a great way to beat the heat. On occasions, you may wish to share the fun with your friends, neighbors, or extended family. You can have a pool party and invite the people you care about to come to your home and relax on your pool deck furniture. Drinking ice-cold lemonade on poolside lawn chairs is an ideal way to spread the summer pleasure of having a pool. With this in mind, there are two important things you will want to do before throwing a pool party: make sure you have nice poolside furniture; and make a plan for the party.
Having Quality Poolside Furniture
On many occasions, repairing high quality furniture is less expensive and more customized than purchasing new. You can choose a repair company that can personalize your furniture to your preference. Lounge chairs are especially popular, and provide comfortable seating for your guests to relax on. There are many styles you can choose from that are both attractive and affordable. Your poolside furniture should be able to resist UV rays, chlorine, and salt water, which can damage furnishings made from untreated materials. If treated properly your outdoor furniture will look like new without the new furniture price tag.
Planning Your Party
There are several steps to planning a fun pool party that will impress your guests and create an enjoyable atmosphere.
- Decide who you are going to invite. Designate on the invitation whether or not the party is for children or strictly adults. Include on the invitation anything you need your guests to bring, such as their swimming suit, and a potluck dish if that is the menu theme of your party.
- Plan the food. You may want to organize a potluck barbecue, or provide a buffet with various finger foods, cold salmon, salads, or other refreshing menu options. Include plenty of ice cold beverages, especially on days when the temperature is high. Keep in mind if some of your guests may include children; and provide menu items that will satisfy their younger ages. Since glass is not the best poolside ware for eating, since it can break, use plastic or other unbreakable plates and cups. Having more than one food station will prevent overcrowding at the serving tables. Provide plenty of seating and tables for your guests so that they can enjoy sitting down and eating.
- Plan activities. If the party includes children, plan games that will entertain appropriate ages. Sack races and horseshoes are a couple of fun ideas. For adults, you may wish to put a few board games like chess or backgammon around at the tables, and allow your guests to freely mingle, eat, swim, and relax.
- Decorations can be light and simple to create a relaxing ambience. Fresh flowers are always a great theme. For evening parties, decorate with lanterns, floating candles, or tiki torches to set a tranquil tone.
- Clean the pool. Be sure to clear your pool of debris and check your water quality.
- Make safety a priority. Injuries can miserably end a party real fast. Provide life preserver rings, and consider hiring a lifeguard. Post pools safety signs around the pool if children will be present.
- Provide Conveniences such as freshly laundered towels, flip-flops, sunscreen, and bug spray.
You will be satisfied when you are prepared with the best poolside furniture for your party. If you follow your party plan, you can find your pool even more enjoyable as you are surrounded by your friends, neighbors, and family.
