Over Christmas I was send a few samples of Lucas Candies. Yum!!
The Lucas family has been making chocolates since 1896 after five Lucas brothers immigrated to the U.S. from Greece and settled on the Hudson River in Haverstraw, NY. Today the store is operated by the fourth generation of the Lucas family, with the day to day management overseen by chocolatier, Nick Loucas, the great great Nephew of Constantine. Lucas Candies uses the same recipe that came with the family from Greece in 1896, and the store still remains in its original location. Nick Loucas has successfully continued the Lucas legacy.
I left my samples that were sent to me for this review out on the counter so everyone in the house was sampling as they walked by. My husband who is usually never happy with any food actually made the comment, “This chocolate is REALLY good!” So, for my husband to endorse them is a huge complement!

I can’t believe I stumbled across this review. When I saw the name Lucas Candies it made me smile. I live in the area. My husband grew up the next town over. They always had Lucas candy especially around the holdiay times. Anyone in the area always took the extra trip there to get their goodies. It is well worth the trip.
