The React Mobile Safety App is the must have app for personal safety. The Co-Founder, Robb Monkman, was inspired to create the mobile safety application after being held at gunpoint during a home invasion while in college several years ago. Of course when something happens like this you want to be able to contact authorities and your loved ones all at the same time. If you are like me you might panic or get so fluster in a situation like this you forget how to function or even how to call 911.
Available as a FREE Download on iTunes & Google Play, React Mobile has many amazing features that are simple and easy to use and gives you a better peace of mind when it comes to your safety, as well as that of your children.
I do some traveling as a blogger to conferences alone. While I do meet up with my blogger friends I am always calling or texting my husband to let him know where I am. Not because he wants to know my every move but, because I want him to know where I am in-case for some horrible reason something happens to me….he will know where I was last. Using the React Mobile App I would not have to call him or text him all the time.
The follow me feature is wonderful! I have a teenage boy who does not always like to call me when gets somewhere safe. With the follow me feature he can turn on the app to send me a link allowing me to track his whereabouts in real time. This way when he tells me he is going to his friends house or to a movie I know that really is where he is! He can also select the I’m Safe button to let me know when he has arrived. Then is something does happen he can still send out a SOS Alert if needed. I still worry about him going to a movie…I am sure all of you with kids worry the same way. Just because of that one movie theater shooting now I worry the whole time he is in a movie!
Whenever you activate your SOS alert, you will automatically be prompted to call “911″. If you are oustide North America, the app allows you to choose which country you live in (or are traveling to) from the settings tab. This is great for if you are traveling to another country. Then, when an SOS alert is triggered, you will be prompted to dial the appropriate emergency authority depending on you’re geographic location.
When you want to activate you can add contacts manually or select from your existing contacts lists. React Mobile will send an SOS alert to everyone you have selected. The alerts can be sent via SMS/text, email and Facebook with your GPS coordinates to let everyone know exactly where you are. I do remember being on a collage campus heading back to my dorm room late at night. It would have been a feeling of some safety knowing that if something were to happen I could press a button fast to get help to me.
