First, what is a “Push Gift” right? A push gift if a gift given to a new mother that has just given birth. Now, if you have a c-section I think you deserve one also! Haven given birth to three wonderful boys myself, yes I felt I deserved a gift after each and every one of them! Every new mother does.
So what would be a few great Push Gifts? Here are a few tips to guide you in the right direction:
You can check out the Kranich’s website. They have dazzling designs like their beautiful Art Carved designs! You can not go wrong with any piece of jewelry in my book. Try to get something that means something or symbolizes the special event to the two of you.
A cozy comfy rocking chair. This will come in very handy while feeding the baby. Trust me you will spend a lot of time rocking and feeding your new precious little one. Take some time to look around…they have some really new great features, you do not have to settle for your grandmother’s rocking chair. Make sure to purchase a few throw pillows also.
A new flat screen television. If you do not already have one in the baby’s room this should be a purchase you make. I know you are thinking, “Why put a tv in the baby’s room?”. Well, it is not for the baby! Is if for the one feeding and rocking the baby in the middle of the night or early and late hours of the day!
Digital camcorder would be next on my list. I know we all have cameras and video cameras on our phones but you might want to look into something with a little better quality. Tip: Go ahead and take the time to set it up beforehand and “teach” everyone to use it. That way you do not miss that special moment trying to figure out how to work the camera or find out your have to charge it first!
Another idea would be an easy Mommy and Baby workout dvd. Don’t get something to hard or a real long workout…just something FUN for mom and baby to spend a little bonding time moving around together.
And my last idea would be “Coupons”. No, I do not mean money saving coupons. I mean a book of coupons she can use at anytime to have a little break. Here are a few example:
Diaper Change – in the middle of the day.
Diaper Change – in the middle of the night.
Night out with your friends.
Baby feeding time break.
Night time feeding.
