A while back I told you about Turbana Plantain Chips you can read my introduction to them here.
Turbana Plantain Chips was nice enough to send me a little care package with a few samples in them 🙂
A Plantain is a banana containing high levels of starch and little sugar, harvested green and widely used as a cooked vegetable in the tropics. Â I love banana’s so these sound great to me.
The Turbana Plantain Chips have 30% less fat than potato chips, no trans fat and zero cholesterol! How great does that sound!
The only ingredients are selected fresh plantains, vegetable oil, salt and natural flavorings.
They sent me a very cute package of their products 🙂 The packaging is very nice. Inside were three chip bags, a large plastic bag, a pen, sticky notes, a book about Turbana Plantain, a toy banana, a bag clip all in a clear boat shaped container with plastic wrap and ribbons. Thank you for sending me these items!
You can get them in six different flavors: sweet, garlic, chili, lime, natural, or chili lime.
You can purchase them HERE. You can also check them out on facebook.
They sent me the sweet, chili, and lime to taste.
The sweet was the kids favorite. They really tasted like very very thin crunch dried bananas with a little but of sweetness. Chili was my favorite. You might would think it would be an overwhelming chili taste but it really was not. Just a hint of chili. Lime was my husbands favorite. He liked just the light taste they had. Again, just like the chili the flavor is not overwhelming.
None of them were bad tasting to any of us but we all found our favorite 🙂 I would suggest buying these as a great healthy snack for everyone in the family.
