Who has time for a yard sell ~ not me! Plus, I have just never been a morning person and all yard sells start at the crack of dawn! I do not want to be up at 6 am on a Saturday morning. Plus, all the planning that has to go into it…..the stickers, tables to place everything, putting up signs or listing in the newspaper. That is just to much work I do not have time for!
So now that Spring is coming around and everyone is ready to do some Spring Cleaning ……what do you do with all the stuff you need to get rid of? I hate just to throw it all away! Some of the items the kids just out-grow or stop playing with are still worth money. So here are five tips to make a little money off your unwanted items.
Tip 1 ~ Send in unwanted clothes and shoes to ThredUp. You can send in your kids name brand clothes and get cash! If you place an order they will send you a return bag for free or you can have them just send you a bag.
Tip 2 ~ If you have any antique items try a local auction houses. Just make sure to always put a reserve, or minimum bid, on your item so that you are to make sure to get what you want out of the sell.
Tip 3 ~ Take all your unwanted books to your local used bookstore. You’ll get the most money for recent titles in excellent condition.
Tip 4 ~ Sell your unwanted DVDs, CDs and Games on Music Magpie. You can do a search on their Valuation Engine to get an instant value of your items. Ship in your items to them for free, then get paid by check. Easy as 1-2-3.
Tip 5 ~ Donate the rest! While this is not going to put cash in your pocket right now it will save you some money on your taxes at the end of the year.
